Apply for ESA

Visit azed.gov/esa and complete the online application. Nearly every Arizona K–12 student is eligible. It takes about 15 minutes.

Yes, ESA participants cannot be enrolled in public or charter schools. However, many families find that personalized 1-on-1 instruction provides a better educational experience. We can help you through the transition.

Most tutoring services supplement school. Pono Education provides dedicated, personalized instruction as a primary educational service — delivered by a certified Arizona teacher, not a college student or volunteer. Each session is a full 60 minutes of focused, 1-on-1 attention.
It depends on your child's goals and needs. Most families start with 2 sessions per week, which provides consistent progress without overwhelming your child's schedule. Students who need more intensive support — especially those catching up on multiple grade levels or working through learning differences — may benefit from 3–4 sessions per week. We'll recommend a schedule during your free consultation based on your child's specific situation.
